EASTWOOD SURPRISED TO BECOME A DAD LATE IN LIFE

CLINT EASTWOOD was pleasantly surprised to discover he was set to become a dad in his mid-60s - because he thought his parenting days were over.

The movie icon had sired six kids by four different women when his wife Dina Ruiz started feeling sick during a lengthy honeymoon in Hawaii.

Eastwood tells the upcoming issue of Parade magazine, "She said she felt a little nausea. She asked me to stop at a gas station so she could buy one of those sticks (pregnancy tests). She came back and said, 'We're pregnant'.

"At least nobody stood there with a shotgun when we got married."

The couple's daughter, Morgan, is now 12, and Ruiz admits the movie tough guy has finally settled into fatherhood and becoming a grandpa.

She adds, "He likes now being seen as a grandfather, as vulnerable, as crying over his daughters."
