LOVE WAS REFUSED WEIGHT-LOSS OPERATION

Former HOLE singer COURTNEY LOVE was once so desperate to lose weight, she pleaded with doctors to fit her with a gastric band.

The rocker is keen to keep hold of her slim-line figure, but hates dieting, and was convinced a gastric band - which limits the amount of food the stomach can hold - would help her shed the pounds.

But medics refused to allow the star to have the operation, insisting the procedure is only used on people with serious obesity problems.

She tells British Elle magazine, "Baby, if I could get a gastric band I would! I've heard it's a lot of vomiting and a pain in the a**, but it's still easier than a diet. I did go to see a Hollywood doctor about it. I wasn't desperate, I just knew I had to do something. He said no.

"I might have been fat, but I wasn't that fat."

Love subsequently opted for a liposuction operation instead, but was disappointed with the results.

She adds, "I tried liposuction on my stomach after that. It was horrible and it didn't work."
