JONES BUSKS FOR CHARITY

Veteran crooner TOM JONES thrilled passersby in London on Wednesday (19Nov08) as he took to the streets for a busking session to raise funds for a cancer charity.

The Delilah singer attracted hundreds of fans to the banks of the River Thames in London as he sang a selection of his classic hits, with only the accompaniment of an acoustic guitar.

And Jones got the eager crowd involved in the informal gig - he pulled out four female fans to act as his backing singers.

The Welsh legend, who filmed the set for the BBC's Culture Show, earned $750 (GBP500) for charity from the charitable donations from the crowd.
