SIR PAUL McCARTNEY is planning to release an unheard BEATLES' track his former bandmate GEORGE HARRISON once deemed too adventurous for the public.
Carnival of Light, a 14-minute improvised song recorded in 1967, was played just once in public at a London music festival before it was shelved - because the Fab Four were convinced the psychedelic epic was too radical for their fans.
Harrison even dubbed the experimental tune as "avant-garde a clue".
But now McCartney, who was commissioned to create the piece by friend Barry Miles, believes the "time has come for it (Carnival of Light) to get its moment".
The star tells BBC presenter John Wilson, "It does exist. I like it because it's the Beatles free, going off piste.
"We were set up in the studio and would just go in every day and record. I said to the guys, 'This is a bit indulgent but would you mind giving me 10 minutes? I've been asked to do this thing. All I want you to do is just wander round all of the stuff and bang it, shout, play it. It doesn't need to make any sense. Hit a drum, wander to the piano, hit a few notes.' And then we put a bit of echo on it. It's very free."
