SURFERS PLEAD NOT GUILTY IN PAPARAZZI BATTLE

The surfers charged with dragging paparazzi and their equipment into the sea during a scuffle over a MATTHEW McCONAUGHEY stake-out have pleaded not guilty to misdemeanour battery.

Skylar Peak and Philip Hildebrand are accused of confronting snappers trying to get shots of McConaughey on a Malibu, California beach in June (08).

The surfers allegedly threw one photographer into the water as he tried to shoot pictures.

One of the snappers claims he was attacked and his camera was thrown into the ocean by the accused surfers.

A pretrial hearing has been set for 14 January (09).
