HUDSON SETS UP FOUNDATION FOR MURDER VICTIMS' FAMILIES

LATEST: JENNIFER HUDSON has set up a new foundation just days after her mother, brother and nephew were killed in a devastating triple murder.

The Hudson-King Foundation for Families of Slain Victims is named in honour of the Oscar winner's mother Darnell Hudson Donerson, brother Jason Hudson and nephew Julian King.

A statement from Hudson's family reads, "The specific purpose of the Foundation is to care for the needs of families who have lost relatives to a violent crime. This encompasses their basic needs of food, clothing and shelter as well as grief counseling."

The announcement of the new foundation came after a prayer vigil at the Hudson family's local church in Chicago, Illinois on Wednesday night (29Oct08).

Hudson's mother and brother died from gunshot injuries at their home last Friday (24Oct08), while King's remains were discovered three days later in an abandoned car in Chicago.

William Balfour, the estranged husband of Hudson's sister Julia, is considered a suspect in their shooting deaths. He remains in police custody at deadline.
