Late FOUR TOPS singer LEVI STUBBS is to be honoured with his own day in his native Detroit, Michigan.
The star, who had suffered from a long battle with cancer and ill health, died in his sleep earlier this month (17Oct08) at his home in the city of his birth.
And now city officials have announced that the Motown singer will be remembered on the annual Levi Stubbs Day, which will take place on his birthday, 6 June.
Councilwoman JoAnn Watson says, "He stayed in Detroit. He could have gone anywhere, but he stayed with his wife, stayed with his group, stayed with the Four Tops."
Stubbs was laid to rest in Detroit on Monday (27Oct08).
