Soul singer DEE DEE WARWICK has died. She was 63.
Warwick, a cousin of Whitney Houston and sister to Dionne Warwick, died on Saturday (18Oct08) at a nursing home in New Jersey after suffering failing health in recent months.
Warwick passed away with her elder sister Dionne by her side.
Born Delia Mae Warrick in 1945, the singer achieved huge success in the 1960s and 1970s with a version of I'm Gonna Make You Love Me, that was later covered by Diana Ross and The Supremes.
She was nominated for Grammy Awards for her tracks Foolish Fool and She Didn't Know (She Kept on Talking).
In more recent times, Warwick returned to sing backing vocals for Dionne in concert in 2006 and was also part of the Family First song in the Tyler Perry movie and soundtrack for 2007's Daddy's Little Girls.
Earlier this year (08), she featured in the title track from her sisters gospel album Why We Sing and enjoyed a stint on Dionne's one woman show My Music and Me in Europe.
