Egyptian lawmaker HISHAM TALAAT MOUSTAFA and an associate have denied charges they plotted to kill pop star SUZANNE TAMIM.
Billionaire Moustafa and Mohsen Sukkari were separated by a partition in a metal cage in court in Cairo on Saturday (18Oct08) to prevent the two accused men from fighting each other.
They both denied charges they orchestrated the killing of the Lebanese singer, and blamed the other for her death last month (Sep08).
Reports suggest Tamim was planning to end her romance with Moustafa when she was killed. He was arrested on charges that he ordered her killing.
Sukkari, a former state security officer who worked at a hotel owned by Moustafa, is charged with carrying out the murder.
Tamim was found dead from a stab wound in her apartment in July (08).
The murder trial has been adjourned to 15 November (08).
