YOGI BEAR HEADING TO HOLLYWOOD

Children's cartoon character YOGI BEAR is heading to the big screen - he's to star in his own movie, five decades after he first debuted on TV.

The film, which will also feature Yogi's mischievous sidekick Boo-Boo, will mix live action with animation and will be helmed by Toy Story 2 director Ash Brannon.

Yogi Bear, created by artists at American animation studio Hanna-Barbera, featured on U.S. TV in the late 1950s on The Huckleberry Hound Show. In 1961, he had his own cartoon series, The Yogi Bear Show.

The currently untitled Warner Bros. movie will follow the adventures of Yogi Bear in Jellystone Park as he attempts to elude his enemy Ranger Smith.
