TUPAC SHAKUR producer JOHNNY JACKSON has died in an alleged suicide at a California prison.
The beatmaker, also known as Johnny J., was serving time in Los Angeles County Jail on a driving under the influence (DUI) charge when he is reported to have jumped to his death from a tier in the detention centre on Friday (03Oct08), according to AllHipHop.com.
Jackson, 39, contributed tracks to the late Shakur?s classic 1996 album All Eyez On Me, including the hit single How Do U Want It, as well as providing beats for songs on his Thug Life and Me Against the World LPs, among others.
He was also known for his work on movies like Blood Diamond, which he provided the score for in 2006.
