LABEOUF CLEARED OF DRINK DRIVING

SHIA LaBEOUF is celebrating after learning he won't be charged with drink driving following a July (08) car accident in Hollywood that left him with a shattered hand.

Authorities arriving at the scene suspected the Transformers star had been drinking, but the Los Angeles District Attorney has declared there isn't enough evidence to bring a case against the actor.

LaBeouf, who was arrested before undergoing hand surgery after the collision, has already avoided blame in the near-fatal accident - 21-year-old Simon Herbert was cited for running a red light and causing the crash last month (Aug08).

LaBeouf's Transformers director Michael Bay has never doubted his young star's sobriety on the night of the crash.

At the time of the accident, Bay said, "He was not drunk. He was drinking hours and hours before... That's (DUI rumour) gonna go away.”
