MCCARTNEY'S UNDER MI6 PROTECTION FOR ISRAEL GIG

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY is ensuring his safety at his controversial Israel gig - by having a 5,000 strong security team present at the event.

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY

The Hey Jude hitmaker is set to play a concert in Israel's capital Tel Aviv on Thursday (25Sep08) but the planned gig has been dogged with controversy after reports circulated stating suicide bombers were planning to target the event.

And it is hoped that the massive security presence - which allegedly includes 20 agents from Israel's elite Mossad intelligence organisation and officers from Britain's MI6 - will ward off any would-be troublemakers.

A source tells Britain's Daily Mirror, "No one is taking anything for granted. The level of security is unlike anything we've seen.

"Everything is being done to ensure that this passes peacefully and witout incident."
