Country star BILLY JOE SHAVER has been indicted on aggravated assault and weapons charges in Texas for his part in a shooting incident in Lorena last year (Apr07).
The 69-year-old singer/songwriter is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful carrying of a handgun by a licensed holder on a licensed premises - both felonies.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit filed last year (07) by an eyewitness, Shaver followed Billy Coker out of Papa Joe's Texas Saloon, asked, "Where do you want it?" and then shot his victim in the face.
Coker insists the shooting was unprovoked, but Shaver maintains Coker was drunk and aggressive.
