ACTRESS PRATHER ARRESTED FOR HIT-AND-RUN

Ex TV star JOAN PRATHER was arrested for felony hit-and-run at the weekend (13/14Sep08) after allegedly busting through police barricades and dragging a cop along Malibu, California's Pacific Coast Highway.

According to the Malibu Surfside News the one-time Eight is Enough actress passed through a section of the highway closed off for the Malibu triathlon. When a Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputy raised his hand to signal for her to stop, Prather reportedly drove on, hooking his watch on her car and dragging him for six metres (20 feet).

The newspaper claims the officer was treated for a sprained arm, and Prather was arrested and released on $50,000 (GBP27,000) bail.

Prather's representative has not returned requests for a comment.
