DMX EXTRADITED TO ARIZONA

Rapper DMX's legal woes went from Florida to Arizona on Wednesday (10Sep08) when he was extradited from one jail to another.

The rap star, real name Earl Simmons, is now in custody in a Phoenix jail on theft charges after he was transferred on Wednesday (10Sep08) from a Miami holding cell after pleading guilty to attempted marijuana and cocaine possession.

Simmons was fined $483 (GBP261), sentenced to time served and then extradited to Arizona, where he was arrested on a fugitive warrant for failing to appear in Maricopa County Superior Court.

DMX also faces several animal cruelty and drug possession counts in the state.

The 37-year-old must post $25,000 (GBP13,513) bail before he's released.
