MISFITS QUIT MOTORHEAD TOUR

Punk icons the MISFITS have quit MOTORHEAD's Volcom 2008 tour after falling out with organisers over technical issues.

In a statement, band frontman Jerry Only suggests he and his bandmates were asked to "compromise" their performance for the sake of the upcoming U.S. tour - and refused.

He says, "For the sake of our loyalty and dedication to all our fiends (corr), the Misfits have chosen to withdraw from the lineup of Volcom 2008 tour.

"The Misfits have always held an incredibly high standard of performance and quality in everything we do. Our fans expect this and deserve it. I will not compromise their expectations for any amount of money, prestige or fame."

The news comes 10 days after Australian rockers Airborne quit that same tour to allow singer/guitarist Joel O'Keefe to recover from a throat illness.
