The animator who gave CHARLIE BROWN's dog SNOOPY a voice has died.
Jose 'Bill' Melendez passed away on Tuesday (02Sep08). He was 91.
The Emmy-winning animator is largely responsible for bringing Charlie Brown and his Peanuts pals to TV screens.
Melendez was a Oscar nominee and he also picked up two Peabody Awards for his animation work.
His A Charlie Brown Christmas has become a festive favourite.
