Reggae star EDDY GRANT has welcomed the return of live music - because it exposes fakes who cannot play their own instruments.

The veteran hitmaker has emerged from his recording studio to embark on his first world tour for 20 years.
And he insists live shows are surging in popularity - because music fans are fed-up with manufactured acts and TV talent show winners.
The I Don't Wanna Dance singer tells WENN, "It's fantastic. It's an artist's time now. All that bulls**t that just goes with making hit records, not performing on a stage, singing to a backing track and all that crap. It's gone, and now is a time for performers.
"That's why classic artists like the Rolling Stones have done so well for so long. There is no-one to de-throne them. It went away because the media convinced people that the guy spinning the drumsticks is actually playing the drums, or the guy who hasn't even got his hand on the guitar is actually playing it. Kids believe you can get on stage with a haircut and entertain."
And Grant believes TV talent shows such as The X Factor produce too many "stars" who have success handed to them on a plate.
He adds: "It's like drinking too much sugar water. There is something to be said for it. If somebody has got talent and you can find them and present it to the public, that's good.
"But not when every single programme is about it, because you also end up pulling up the dregs as well."
