JACKSONS URGE `WORRYWART' MICHAEL TO LIVE IT UP AS HE TURNS 50

The JACKSON family hopes life begins at 50 for birthday boy MICHAEL - because he needs to "let his hair down" and have some fun.

Longtime former family publicist and biographer Phoenix insists fears about Jackson's health and his image, combined with the toll his 2005 child molestation trial took on him, have turned the King of Pop into a "frail and fragile worrywart".

And Phoenix, who is still great friends with Michael's brothers Tito and Jermaine, reveals the fallen pop superstar's parents and siblings all hope his landmark birthday on Friday (29Aug08) signals a new lease of life for the Thriller star.

Phoenix, who penned the book Touched By The Jacksons - about his lengthy stint as the family's PR man - says, "Michael has become so distant to so many people and he chose that path... His family have been trying to get him to come back and get back in the game for years.

"He's a worrywart who just lives for his kids. Michael is worrying himself into the grave. The family says that too. I pray and hope that life begins at 50 for him because I want what's right for Michael."

But Phoenix insists the pop superstar's 50th birthday won't be the celebration it should be.

He adds, "Spiritually, he'll be happy that he's turning 50, but age does bother Michael because he's worried about his heart. He doesn't want to do anything where he's gonna cause a heart attack.

"He's had a lot of stress that he's had to deal with of late. If you look at Michael, you can see he's very drawn and this last trial zapped the life outta him. That's why he's so fragile and frail looking. He's just getting himself back in the swing of it but it's gonna take a while.

"The family feels he should get out and have fun. He needs to let his hair down. He needs to celebrate and rejoice and live rather than constantly worry what people think about him. He's got a bad habit with that."
