JACKSON MORE FAMOUS FOR SURGERY AND SCANDAL

MICHAEL JACKSON is more famous for his cosmetically-altered appearance than his music, according to a new poll.

The pop superstar was one of the most successful musicians of his generation before he swapped the recording studio for the operating theatre.

To mark Jackson's 50th birthday on Friday (29Aug08), PopEater.com asked 50,000 online fans to register what the star is most famous for - and 42 per cent answered "plastic surgery".

His scandals - including his 2005 acquittal on child molestation charges - was the second most popular choice, with 28 per cent of the vote.

Jackson's music finished third, with just 26 per cent. Four per cent of fans offered other answers.
