Actor MATTHEW RHYS has been honoured for his 'significant contribution' to Welsh culture.

The Edge of Love star was awarded the membership of the Gorsedd of Bards at a ceremony at Wales's National Eisteddfod.
The 32-year-old has now taken the bardic title Matthew Taf.
He says, "The honour is double or 10 times more when you hear the names of those who have gone before you and the things they have achieved.
"It's humbling to be in their number."
