BERRABAH'S SISTER ADMITS HOSPITAL THEFT

The elder sister of SUGABABES star AMELLE BERRABAH has pleaded guilty to theft.

Nurse Zakiya Berrabah, 35, is accused of stealing two store cards and some cash from patients at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford, south east England, where she worked.

She confessed to using the two cards from British department store House of Fraser to buy $6,440 (GBP3,220)-worth of clothes and other items.

Appearing in Guildford Crown Court on Friday (01Aug08), Berrabah admitted to one count of theft and another of obtaining property by deception.

Sentencing was postponed to a later date after the court heard how Berrabah had "thought of hanging herself" while in custody. She has been bailed and is due to return to court next month (Sept08) to hear her punishment.
