BONO TO BE GODFATHER TO JOLIE-PITT TWINS?

BRAD PITT and ANGELINA JOLIE have asked U2 star BONO to be the godfather of their newborn twins, according to reports.

The couple - who welcomed son Knox Leon and daughter Vivienne Marcheline in France earlier this month (12Jul08) - were keen for the rocker to take on the role because they are impressed by his humanitarian work.

And the new parents are reportedly delighted after he accepted their offer.

A source tells British newspaper the Sunday Mirror: "Brad and Angie think the world of Bono. They have been friends for years. Brad is a massive U2 fan and told Bono how much he admired him when they were introduced at a party a few years back.

"Since then, they've become very close, which Brad is thrilled about.

Angelina is inspired by Bono's humanitarian work and gets on with his wife Ali Hewson."

It is also claimed Jolie will ask ex-lover Jenny Shimzu to be the twins' godmother.

The twins are the fifth and sixth additions to Jolie and Pitt's family - the couple has three adopted children, Maddox, six, Pax, four, three year old Zahara, and biological daughter Shiloh, two.
