SMASHING PUMPKINS STARS SUE LABEL BOSSES

Former SMASHING PUMPKINS stars JAMES IHA and D'ARCY WRETZKY-BROWN are suing Virgin Records America over royalties they feel they're owed.

The former bandmates claim label bosses have cheated them out of ringtone fees, among other things.

In the suit, filed in Los Angeles on Thursday (24Jul08) and obtained by TMZ.com, Iha and Wretzky-Brown claim Virgin executives negotiated a deal for electronic transmissions solely with frontman Billy Corgan.

They claim the 2005 deal should have been negotiated with them too.

The plaintiffs are seeking unspecified damages.
