British rocker PETE DOHERTY paid his last respects to a fan by playing at the teenager's wake on Monday (14Jul08).
The Babyshambles frontman took to the stage to honour 16-year-old Daniel Squires, who died from bone cancer earlier this month (04Jul08).
The pair formed a bond when the rocker met Squires backstage at a concert - and Doherty performed at the tragic gig with one of the teenager's friends.
Lynette Gale, manager of the pub where the wake took place, tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror, "He said he wanted to come up to pay tribute. It was a lovely gesture and made it all special."
