AMY WINEHOUSE disappointed fans who arrived at a London nightclub to hear her DJ - by not playing a single record. The Back To Black singer was due to hit the decks at the launch of her own regular club night at the Monarch in Camden, London on Thursday (10Jun08) night.
Winehouse was expected to show off her new mixing skills at the event, but she baffled the crowd by merely dancing around the DJ booth while a friend controlled the music.
A source tells British magazine Glamour, "It was just the other guy. He was good, so good but Amy didn't start DJing at all.
"It was a really good atmosphere but she didn't get on the decks at all."
NICOLE RICHIE is to complete her TV comeback by turning her 2005 book THE TRUTH ABOUT DIAMONDS into a drama series. The Simple Life star recently shot a cameo role for hit sitcom Chuck and now looks set to star in a new production based on her own coming-of-age novel.
Richie has signed up as a producer on the series and will also appear in the show, although it is not yet known whether she will be tackling the lead role.
She tells Eonline, "I would definitely produce and definitely be in the show. I don't know if I need to be the star of this show. I've got a lot going on right now."
The books tells the story of a young girl adopted by a superstar musician who hits the Hollywood party scene and ends up in rehab.
It is thought to be a thinly-veiled memoir of Richie's own life.
The actress is currently working on her second novel, although she refuses to give away any of the details.
She adds, "I'm not telling you (the plot). It's not finished."
ASHLEY TISDALE burst into tears while filming her final scenes for HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3: SENIOR YEAR - because she is devastated her part in the franchise is over. The actress has been involved in all three of the hit teen movies so far, but won't be playing Sharpay Evans for a fourth time.
And she insists she wasn't the only one to shed a tear on the last day - her castmates Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Corbin Blue all got emotional too.
She says, "We went into the last day thinking, 'It'll all be fine 'cause we're all really good friends and we're so close.
"It wasn't even the last scene - we couldn't even get through it. We were crying and just so emotional over the whole thing.
"We're so attached to each other. We've had such fun doing these movies. It's definitely something that's tough to leave and say goodbye to."
Tisdale also confirms she is not the only one who will miss out on a further Disney follow-up.
She adds, "I heard they're going to do a High School Musical 4, but we have nothing to do with it. I think we're all doing other projects and moving on."
Rapper SNOOP DOGG is continuing his love affair with country music - by reworking JOHNNY CASH's classic track I WALK THE LINE. The hip-hop star - who dedicated his new single My Medicine to the legendary musician - has signed up to work on an album of Cash covers.
The new disc, to be produced by the late singer's son John Carter Cash, will see a variety of stars giving Cash's songs their own personal touch.
And Carter Cash insists his father would have approved of Snoop Dogg's contribution.
He says, "He would have loved this remix record. While it stays true to the original recordings, this CD touches on undiscovered ground.
"This is what my father was about: staying true to tradition while creating groundbreaking new music."
Superproducer MARK RONSON is shocked by the success of AMY WINEHOUSE's hit track REHAB - as he never expected the song to do so well. The 2006 song has garnered international critical acclaim, winning Winehouse three Grammy awards and an Ivor Novello prize for songwriting.
And Ronson - who produced the track for Winehouse's LP Back to Black - had no idea Rehab would become such a phenomenon.
He says, "Doing Back to Black with Amy, we felt no pressure at all to come up with hits. We were in our own bubble, just making music we liked.
"So while I knew it was good, I had no idea why her A+R guy saw dollar signs the very instant we first played him Rehab."
Musicians LUDACRIS and TOMMY LEE have vowed to continue the celebrity craze for environmentally-friendly living. The pair, who star in U.S. reality TV show Battleground Earth, were challenged alongside other musicians to see who can reduce their carbon footprints most significantly.
And the duo insist their efforts to be eco-friendly have become a source of good-natured competition since they've completed filming.
The rapper says, "I'm working on getting solar panels on my house in Georgia, and I just bought a Tahoe hybrid".
Lee adds, "I'm going to try to get off the grid myself," insisting he has plans to add even more solar panels than his pal.
Canadian singer MICHAEL BUBLE has split from his actress girlfriend EMILY BLUNT. Buble met The Devil Wears Prada star backstage at one of his concerts in 2005 and they began dating shortly afterwards.
However, the pair - which lived together in Vancouver, Canada - has now decided to end its three-year relationship.
The split has been confirmed by Buble's publicist, Liz Rosenberg. She says, "Sadly, after three years, they have parted ways. They are both extraordinary people with huge talent. Let's wish them well."
Buble was previously engaged to dancer Debbie Timuss, they split in 2005.
Emerging artist L.P., who was Clear Channel’s Artist to Watch on their NEW! Program for June, has a new music video 'Good With You'/'Cling To Me' from her upcoming album on SoBe Entertainment.
New York City’s much buzzed about songstress L.P. has just released the first single “Good With You” off of her soon to be named and highly anticipated record set to hit in early 2009 via SoBe Entertainment. L.P. was featured as Clear Channel’s Artist to Watch for their NEW! program in June and the single is quickly gaining traction in the AAA format.
Armed with a voice that weaves seamlessly between being fierce and vulnerable, L.P. can captivate an audience with a single note, and turn a crowd of strangers into rabid fans with just one song. Nothing iterates this point better than the story of SXSW 2006 where her live performance inspired a label bidding war. This ultimately led to her being signed by LA Reid himself to Island Records. While L.P. says it’s “nice” that she inspired the competition, the singer ultimately walked away from the deal with her songs in hand, the material that will be included on her forthcoming album on SoBe Entertainment.
L.P. has invited comparisons to Janis Joplin, Joan Jett, Gwen Stefani and Chrissie Hynde and has worked with go-to rocker Linda Perry who is a self confessed fan. The Washington Post call’s L.P. “. . . a punky rocker with the pipes of a belter,” while Entertainment Weekly exclaims “NYC moptop songwriter L.P. has toured the country and back, but nothing much spins her wheels off their axles” and Cincinnati City Beat offers up this piece of advice, “Tell a friend: L.P. is going to be huge.
LATEST: ROLLING STONES star RONNIE WOOD is reportedly planning to check himself into rehab for the second time in a month - after his wife JO went public about her fears over his drinking.
Ronnie Wood and Jo Wood at the wedding of their daughter Leah Wood and Jack MacDonald at Southwark Cathedral. London, England - 21.06.08
Wood, a self-confessed alcoholic, has been at the centre of controversy after a British tabloid newspaper reported that he had left his wife for an 18-year-old Russian waitress.
But although Jo Wood has dismissed stories that her husband is having an affair, she confirmed rumours he has begun drinking heavily again - admitting she is seriously worried about the 61-year-old rocker's health.
Wood has been staying in Ireland with teenage Muscovite Ekaterina Ivanova - who is rumoured to be romantically involved with the musician.
Now, following Jo's public outburst, it is reported that he is planning on returning to the family home in England and seeking help to combat his drinking.
A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "It gave him a slap round the face and hopefully shocked him back onto the wagon. He called and said he was coming back on Monday and will check into rehab. Let's just hope he does."
Last month (Jun08), Wood checked himself into rehab before his daughter Leah's wedding amid fears he was losing his battle with the booze.
The Love In This Club hitmaker was performing at the This Day Music and Fashion Festival 2008 in the country's capital of Abuja at around 1am when the drunken brawl took place in front of the stage.
Security guards attempted to break up the scuffle as members of the crowd were shoved towards the platform and one man was removed from the venue, The Dome.
It is currently unclear whether the unnamed male was arrested, as one source claimed, or was simply forbidden from re-entering the concert.
Nobody was seriously injured.
The gig also saw performances from rap superstar Jay-Z and pop star Rihanna.

Fielder-Civil is currently awaiting sentence in London's Pentonville Prison after pleading guilty to perverting the course of justice and causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) in relation to an attack on pub landlord James King in June 2006.
The 25-year-old could walk free as early as 21 July (08) following his sentencing.
And Mitch is determined to make sure that Fielder-Civil is drug-free after his time behind bars, because he wants to make sure his singer daughter isn't tempted back to a life of wild partying.
He says, "If he comes out, they can't carry on as they have. I don't think he's been clean in prison. He's a fit young man - he could carry on the rest of his life like that - but Amy can't. If he comes out he will go straight into rehab."

The rocker and his band enlisted the former Roxy Music keyboardist to help with their latest album Viva La Vida - but were shocked when Eno unleashed his thoughts on their songs.
Martin says, "He said, 'Your songs are too long, you're too repetitive and your lyrics aren't good enough.’
"Within 20 minutes we'd forgotten about all our previous record sales."

The Faith hitmaker owns a luxurious home in Finchley and wants to change the layout of the outdoor area.
But the plans are so drastic he has to seek an order from his local authority to give him the green light.
According to the proposal, the former Wham! singer is hoping to remove a veranda from his back yard - because it blocks out too much sunlight to the breakfast room at the back of the house.
The singer will have to wait for planning permission to be granted by Barnet council before he can go ahead with the work.
British actress SIENNA MILLER has fuelled rumours she is having an affair with married BALTHAZAR GETTY – after they were photographed together in a topless clinch.
Sienna Miller arrives at LAX airport after jetting in from London. Los Angeles, USA - 22.06.08
The pair was snapped frolicking on a yacht off Italy's Amalfi coast earlier this week (beg07Jul08), just days after actor Getty denied being romantically involved with the Alfie star.
Miller is pictured embracing Getty wearing only skimpy bikini bottoms.
A source tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror, "Sienna is totally besotted with Balthazar. Their relationship has gone from strength to strength over the past month and Sienna finds him utterly irresistible.
"Balthazar arranged the trip to one of the most beautiful and exclusive parts of the Mediterranean. Sienna is telling all of her inner circle she's never been so in love."
The romantic sunshine break comes less than six weeks after Miller split from Welsh actor Rhys Ifans.
Getty, from Los Angeles, is married to Rosetta Millington and the couple has four children.

The actress, who plays Dr. Isobel 'Izzie' Stevens, sparked controversy last month (Jun08) when she refused to submit her name for the prize-giving.
She claimed writers on the hit show were not giving her enough good material.
And the ensuing row led to rumours she was to be axed - with bosses plotting a dramatic death scene for her character.
A source tells E Online, "It's not good there. Shonda is pissed. They're thinking of killing her off."
But the show's creator, Rhimes, has denied any knowledge of a possible exit for Heigl.
She tells E Online, "I haven't heard anything about that."
The makers of ABBA movie musical MAMMA MIA! have been criticised by coastguard agencies for a scene which shows characters jumping off a cliff - amid fears it will encourage 'tombstoning.'
Dominic Cooper and Amanda Seyfried in a scene from 'Mamma Mia!'
Thrill-seekers take part in tombstoning by leaping from a high ledge into the sea.
But the practice, which has risen sharply in Britain over the last few years, can cause life-threatening injuries.
Now coastguards in the U.K. have criticised the new film for showing it in a positive light.
Fred Kaygill, of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, says, "A 46-year-old father of six was killed last year doing it.
“This summer we have seen two broken necks among a spate of serious injuries. It is stupid to promote tombstoning and this film does nothing to help people realise how dangerous it is. This scene does nothing for the story and should not be in there."
Actor DAVID DUCHOVNY is surprised his marriage to TEA LEONI has lasted - because he never saw himself settling down.
DAVID DUCHOVNY and TEA LEONI
The X Files star thought he would always be unable to sustain a long-term relationship because he would lose interest after a few years.
He says, "Twelve years ago, I would have been hard pressed to understand why I'd want to be involved sexually with one person this long.
"Prior to Tea, the longest my intense sexual interest would last would be maybe two years."
But Duchovny, who has been married to Leoni for eleven years and has two children with the actress, admits that marriage is better than he thought.
He adds, "A lot of guys run with fear when that (sexual) intensity starts to fade but the real rewards of a relationship come after you've been together for a while.
"That's where Tea and I are lucky. It keeps getting deeper. It's kind of exciting. I'm as surprised as anybody."
KEVIN COSTNER has a 'dream' life as an actor - but it took years of hard work and dedication to carve out a career in music.

The Hollywood star is a member of country rock band Modern West and is relishing every moment of being in the group because of the struggle he went through to prove his musical talent.
He says, "I've had the kind of life where if I could dream it, I could do it. But you don't just end up on stage in front of thousands because you dream it.
"Hard work is involved in everything I do and I've enjoyed working on writing songs and performing music.
"If it ever stops being fun, I'll be just as happy going back to playing guitar and singing in my living room."
Modern West are currently on tour in the U.S. and are set to release an album in October (08).
Stars including TOM CRUISE, MATT LUCAS and SIMON FULLER all turned out to watch soccer ace DAVID BECKHAM play for LA Galaxy on Thursday (10Jul08) - in celebration of his first anniversary living in the U.S.

The British star, who joined the team from Real Madrid last year (07), invited his close Hollywood pals to watch him play.
The 33-year-old was also cheered on by his nine-year-old son Brooklyn, but the rest of the Beckham clan, including his Spice Girl wife Victoria, were missing from the crowd.
The anniversary celebrations follow the star's comments that he is happier than ever in the U.S.
He also blasted his critics for ever questioning the move.
Beckham says, "We are really settled, I must admit. There's not a single regret. People questioned why I came over here so early, but they were asking a few months before whether I could play at the top level.
"You'll always have a few people who doubt you. But everything is positive and I am so happy here. Victoria is happy here and likes working here."
AMY WINEHOUSE's father MITCH has issued a stark warning to his troubled daughter - urging her to give up drugs or face a "long, slow, painful death". The Back to Black hitmaker has endured a long battle with her addictions – including a stint in rehab earlier this year (08).
She has since suffered a string of health problems including a bout of infectious skin condition impetigo.
Most recently, the singer was hospitalised in June (08) after collapsing at her home and was subsequently diagnosed with traces of deadly lung disease emphysema.
Now her dad, Mitch Winehouse, has said beehive-wearing Amy must give up her party lifestyle once and for all.
He says, "She will die. But it won't be from a drugs overdose. She will die from emphysema. That will be the most likely scenario if she doesn't check her behaviour. We are talking about a long, slow, painful death - gasping for air. I would like all the people who would give her illegal substances to think about that."
GONE WITH THE WIND star EVELYN KEYES has died of uterine cancer. She was 91. The actress passed away at her home in Santa Barbara, California on 4 July (08) but the news was withheld until her death certificate had been filed, according to her close friend Allan Glaser.
Keyes played Scarlett O'Hara's younger sister, Suellen, in the 1939 movie and went on to star in a variety of other films including 1949's Mrs Mike and The Seven Year Itch in 1955.
The star, who married four times, counted director John Huston and band leader Artie Shaw among her famous husbands.
After Shaw died in 2004, Keyes sued his estate, claiming that she was entitled to half of it. In July 2006 a jury ruled in her favour and awarded her $1.42 million (GBP711,000).
Her last film appearance was in 1989 in the comedy movie Wicked Stepmother.

Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a boy unlike any she’s ever met. Intelligent and witty, he sees straight into her soul. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. But what will Edward & Bella do when James (Cam Gigandet), Laurent (Edi Gathegi) and Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre), the Cullens’ mortal vampire enemies, come to town, looking for her?
