GYLLENHAAL SHOCKED BY PROVOCATIVE LINGERIE ADS

New lingerie ads of MAGGIE GYLLENHAAL have left the actress stunned - because she had no idea they'd be plastered all over New York.

The Secretary star is now having second thoughts about signing on as a spokesmodel for underwear giant Agent Provocateur last year (07) after realising what became of something she viewed as "an art project".

She says, "I was looking at (my) Agent Provocateur ads with (husband) Peter (Sarsgaard), saying, 'I don't think I look like that. That underwear really is good!'

"I couldn't believe how it made me look. When they came out, though, I was a but surprised. Somehow I hadn't understood that there'd be all these pictures of me out there in my underwear. I did it as an art project."

In the steamy billboard ads, Gyllenhaal appears to be taking a bubble bath, wearing lingerie and handcuffs.
