MOTLEY CRUE star MICK MARS is a prisoner of his own home when he's not on the road with his band - because a debilitating form of arthritis has left him unable to drive anywhere.
Mick Mars at Motley Crue Press Conference at the Avalon where the band announced Crue Fest 2008, 'The Summer's loudest show on Earth' and performed 'Saints of Los Angeles' from their new album. Hollywood, California - 15.04.08
The guitarist was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) when he was 19 and reveals the degenerative disease has left him unable to move his head.
He tells Blender magazine, "If I could go places I would, but I'm stuck.
"This stuff I have won't allow me to move my head, so I can't drive. It's quite an inconvenience."
And the aging rocker reveals his condition is shrinking him.
He adds, "This AS c**p has shrunk me down really small. I used to be almost five-foot-nine, and I'm just a little over five-three now.
"It stinks... I'm just squashed."
