RIVERA REFUSES TO APOLOGISE OVER ALLEGED ASSAULT

California-based banda singer JENNI RIVERA is refusing to apologise to the fan she allegedly beat up onstage at a recent show in North Carolina.

The Amiga Si Lo Ves star stopped her concert in Raleigh on 23 June (0*) when she was hit by a beer can and she politely invited the fan who threw it to join her on stage.

Thinking his beer bomb had earned him the chance to meet the singer, Oscar Paz, stepped up - only to be clocked by angry Rivera's microphone.

The singer was then escorted away from the venue by police and spent a night behind bars for her actions.

Speaking about the incident on a Los Angeles radio station on Monday (30Jun08), Rivera said, "The only thing I can say is that I'm not very happy about it, but I do take responsibility for what I've done."

Meanwhile, the injured party, Paz, insists he never threw the beer can, but simply raised his hand hoping to meet the singer.

Rivera faces assault charges later this month (25Jul08).
