BARRETT REMEMBER IN HOMETOWN

The life of late PINK FLOYD star SYD BARRETT will be commemorated in his English hometown later this year (08).

The guitarist will be honoured in a series of events in Cambridge, England including a stage show and art exhibition.

The City Wakes theatre production has been billed as the "first official tribute" to Barrett and will feature new versions of some of the star's songs.

Cambridge will also see a display of more than 60 images related to Barrett and Pink Floyd by photographer Storm Thorgerson.

Barrett died aged 60 in 2006 from complications arising from diabetes.
