Major League Baseball's Access To The Show is proud to announce the success of Batting for Charity launched at Bonnaroo 2008. As a result of artist and fan participation at the MLB Road Show batting cages, a donation of $5000 will be made to Rock the Earth (www.rocktheearth.org). Rock the Earth is a not-for-profit, national public interest environmental organization dedicated to protecting and defending America's natural resources through partnerships with the music industry and the world-wide environmental community.

Prior to the festival, Major League Baseball pledged to make a donation for every hit an artist picks up in the cage. In addition, any Bonnaroo attendee visiting the MLB Road Show batting cages would contribute $1 to the eventual sum donated to Rock the Earth simply by stepping up to the plate.

At the end of the four day festival, over 2,300 fans had visited the batting cages, and members of bands including Rogue Wave, Kings of Leon, O.A.R., Ozomatli, The Weather Underground, Umphrey's McGee, Steel Train, The Postelles, and more had taken a few swings.

Rich Goodstone of Superfly Presents, one of the companies that put on Bonnaroo, recounts that fans at the Tennessee festival "love the batting and pitching cages. They really add to the overall music and arts experience that Bonnaroo is."

At this year's Bonnaroo, Major League Baseball's Access To The Show brought together three of America's greatest pastimes: baseball, live music, and giving aid to a worthy cause.
