DEGENERES' EARLY WEDDING GIFT TO FIANCEE

Comedienne ELLEN DeGENERES has gifted her fiancee PORTIA DE ROSSI with a pink diamond ring as an early wedding present.

The talk show host reveals the couple is currently busy planning their nuptials, after California lawmakers overturned a ban on gay marriage in the state last month (May08). The ruling officially came into practice on Tuesday (27Jun08) and DeGeneres and de Rossi are now preparing to tie the knot in a "dream wedding".

DeGeneres is refusing to reveal when the ceremony will take place, but has admitted that "a tiny bit" of the nuptials would be shown on her talk show.

But DeGeneres admits all the preparation is causing her a headache.

She tells People.com, "Planning a wedding is very stressful. It is crazy. My gardener is now invited."

However, she insists she is not nervous about the impending ceremony: "I can't wait to be married. I feel like it is long overdue. And I think someday people will look back on this like women not having the right to vote, and segregation and anything else that seems ridiculous, like we all don't have the same rights."

DeGeneres announced her plans to wed her longtime partner on her chatshow in May (08).
