DIAMOND TOPS U.K. ALBUM CHARTS FOR FIRST TIME

Veteran crooner NEIL DIAMOND has landed his first number one album in the U.K..

The singer's latest LP Home Before Dark has debuted at the top of Britain's album chart on Sunday (18May08) - a week after the star scored his first top ranking album release in his native America.

Diamond knocks German techno band Scooter from the U.K. top spot, with their album Jumping All Over the World falling to number three.

Australian dance group Pendulum shoot into the charts to claim the number two spot, with Duffy's Rockferry rising one place to number three, and Madonna's Hard Candy falling to five.

In the U.K. singles charts, upcoming British band The Tings Tings have knocked Madonna's 4 Minutes from the top spot after four weeks, which falls to three behind Rihanna's latest release Take A Bow, sitting at number two. Will.i.am's collaboration with Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole, Heartbreaker, stays at number four, while Wiley's Wearing My Rolex stays falls to number five.
