ADELE: 'I'LL NEVER MAKE A HAPPY RECORD'

British soul sensation ADELE will never record a 'happy' song - because she can only write new material when she is depressed.

The Chasing Pavements star - who topped the U.K. album charts with her debut LP 19 in February (08) - insists she can't produce new tracks when she is content, insisting she's too busy out having fun.

And the singer claims the only time she settles down to create new music is when she is in emotional turmoil.

She says, "I ain't got time to write songs when I'm happy as I'm out having fun.

"It's when I'm threatening to kill myself I write. You probably won't hear a happy song from me ever."
