The Girls On Film stars were due to play a private gig for Deutsche Bank later this year (08), but their performance was pulled due to the "current economic climate", according to the bank.
A source tells British newspaper The Mirror, "They re-routed their world tour at great cost to themselves to play the party. Then there's the fee. They're in talks but neither side is budging. They are disappointed."
However a spokesperson for the bank says, "There is no issue between Deutsche Bank and Duran Duran. The fact they are not playing is purely a result of the economic climate."
Kind-hearted rockers COLDPLAY have donated a piano to an English school which was devastated by floods last year (07).

The British band bought St David's School in Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucester, the instrument after their original piano was damaged by flooding in June and July.

Disgraced rocker GARY GLITTER has been banned from the Philippines just months before he is due for release from a Vietnam jail. The star - real name Paul Gadd - is currently serving a three-year sentence in a Vietnam prison after he was convicted in 2006 of committing obscene acts with two Vietnamese girls, aged just 11 and 12, but is due to be released in August (08).
The 64-year-old will be deported back to his native Britain, but will have to give officers three days notice if he wishes to go to another country.

In The Tonya Tapes, Harding reveals she was beaten by her exhusband, Jeff Gillooly, and knew nothing about his 1994 clubbing attack on skating rival Nancy Kerrigan, which she was accused of plotting.
Kerrigan was forced to pull out of trials for the 1994 Winter Olympics as a result of her injuries, but was allowed to compete in Lillehammer, Norway, where she won a silver medal.
The skater also writes about her abusive childhood in the book, claiming she was raped - and reveals she has attempted suicide. But she insists the reason she wrote the book was to clear up mistruths and misconceptions about her.
She explains, "I just wanted people to know me for me and not make judgments against me, like, how you see me on TV (sic).
"It's always the black and white interviews, it's not who I am personally."

LUCIEN FREUD's portrait SUE became the world's most expensive piece by a living artist on Tuesday (13May08) when it sold at auction in New York for $33.6 million (GBP16.8 million). The 1995 painting by the 85-year-old Brit was one of eight art auction records broken at the Christie's sale.
The highlight of the night was a 1952 Math Rothko painting, which went under the hammer for a staggering $50.4 million (GBP25.2 million).
