TOO MANY FANS WANTED TO DUET WITH GREEN

Soul legend AL GREEN had to turn down the chance to record a duets album, because too many people wanted to join him in the studio.

The Let's Stay Together singer toyed with the idea of re-recording his hits with today's stars after his last album, but quickly discovered almost everyone was keen to take part.

He says, "I was sitting on the bed in my pyjamas with the publicity president at (record label) Blue Note and we were talking about doing a duet album.

"But there was just so many people wanting to duet that there was too many to duet with."

Instead, Green hit the studio with the Roots drummer Ahmir `?uestlove' Thompson and singers John Legend and Corinne Bailey Rae to record his new album Lay It Down.
