WHITESNAKE are the latest band to announce they are confident of receiving an invitation from LED ZEPPELIN to join them on a forthcoming world tour.
DAVID COVERDALE of Whitesnake
The Stairway To Heaven hitmakers staged a reunion concert in London in December (07) and have left fans waiting to find out whether they will schedule any more shows.
Many bands, including The Cult and Stone Temple Pilots, have since come forward to express their interest in landing a support slot if the newly reformed rockers decide to embark on a global tour.
And Whitesnake have now joined the list of hopefuls, with frontman David Coverdale insisting they are very likely to be given a coveted place alongside the legendary band.
He tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror, "I'm expecting a call from Jimmy (Page, Led Zeppelin guitarist) any day asking my band Whitesnake to support them on a world tour.
"Am I on board? You bet! (It's) probably worth billions!"
And Coverdale is convinced that if Led Zeppelin do tour - it will far outstrip the efforts of fellow veteran rockers The Rolling Stones.
He adds, "Unlike rolling out the wheelchairs with the umpteenth Rolling Stones World Tour, a Led Zeppelin tour will be incredible."
Canadian singer ALANIS MORISSETTE has blamed her decision to take a two-year career hiatus on a relationship breakdown which left her at 'rock bottom'.
Alanis Morissette performing live at the Pearl. Las Vegas, Nevada 18.03.08
The star - who called off her engagement to actor Ryan Reynolds in 2007 - doesn't name the lover who broke her heart, but insists she had to step away from the spot light to recover.
Morissette released her last album, So-Called Chaos, in 2004 and has waited almost four years before debuting her new LP, which is due to hit shops later this year (08).
And the star admits the break-up left her feeling so wounded, she had to take time off from her career.
She tells People.com, "I took a break over the past two and half years. I was tending to my personal life. (I hit) rock bottom.
"Everything from pounding pillows to sharing with intimate friends (helped me through it). The (new) record chronicles the rock bottom finally being hit."
Reynolds announced his engagement to 23-year-old actress Scarlett Johansson on Monday (05May08).
WHITNEY HOUSTON was reportedly so scared of forgetting the words to her hit songs at her recent comeback concert in London, she had the lyrics taped to her dressing room wall.
Whitney Houston performing at the Plymouth Jazz Festival 2008. Tobago, West Indies - 26.04.08
The singer stepped onto the stage at the Caudwell Children Legends Ball on Thursday evening (08May08), where she stunned the packed venue with her greatest hits.
And Houston, who is set for a career revival with a new album later this year (08), was determined not to make a mistake during the performance.
So the When You Believe hitmaker asked for the words to all the songs to be printed out and displayed in her dressing room - so she could memorise them thoroughly before going onstage.
A source tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror, "Whitney was really nervous before her set. She didn't make any diva demands, and was polite to everyone. She spent 45 minutes reading the lyrics, mouthing the words and holding her hands as if in prayer."
And the hard work paid off as the superstar went on to wow the crowd with a flawless performance.

The singer will serve as an executive producer on a game show called The Phone which is due to air this autumn (08).
The programme will feature contestants following instructions on a cellphone and completing a mission to win a cash prize, with MTV comparing the format to a weekly "action-packed mini movie".
A representative for VICTORIA and DAVID BECKHAM has denied the couple is planning to sell their Los Angeles home and move back to their native U.K.

The Spice Girl and her family were rumoured to be considering a transfer back to London after they reportedly hired a top L.A.-based company to design the layout for a new British house.
The couple moved to the U.S. last year (07) with their children - Brooklyn, nine, Romeo, five, and Cruz, three - when soccer ace David joined the LA Galaxy team.
But a spokesperson for the pair has denied they are planning on giving up their life in L.A., telling British newspaper the Daily Star, "Victoria has said if they ever move back to the U.K. they will move to central London but there are no plans at the moment."
Pop star JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE found himself on the wrong side of the law on Thursday (08May08), when he was booked for a parking violation in New York.

The SexyBack hitmaker arrived at the MTV studios in the city ahead of the network's Fall 2008 Upfront Presentation - to inform artists about multi-platform opportunities on the music channel.
But after leaving his black sports utility vehicle (SUV) outside the building, the star was handed a parking ticket by a warden upon his return to the car.
However, the incident did little to dampen Timberlake's spirits - footage posted on TMZ.com shows the singer laughing and joking as the official handed him the penalty.
British girl group SUGABABES have scrapped plans to release a new album this year (08) - insisting they need more time to work on their new material.
Sugababes on the Thames - photocall held at Tower Bridge. London, England - 29.04.08
The band - who released their sixth album last year (07) - had hoped to return to the charts in 2008 with a new LP.
But the trio fear that if they rush the release, they will not be able to produce work that is up to their usual standards and have now pushed the new album back until 2009.
And singer Keisha Buchanan puts the move down to the fact that they write their own material, rather than buying tracks from songwriters.
She says, "We were supposed to release an album this year and we decided against it. With each album we feel we've produced a better one when we have been given time to write about stuff, and we have been through so much this year alone.
"I think sometimes people forget we do write our own material. Even when we have a co-writer, we're writing the bulk of the song."
British rockers MAXIMO PARK are urging their fans not to buy tickets for their forthcoming benefit concert from secondary sellers - insisting many websites are looking make a profit out of their charity appearance.

The band are set to play a special gig in London on 28 May (08) in aid of the cancer unit at the city's Royal Marsden Hospital - which was ravaged by fire earlier this year (08).
And tickets for the gig have since turned up on unofficial websites, which are selling them on for an inflated price - prompting the band to urge music lovers to avoid giving their money to unaffiliated companies.
A statement from the group reads, "We are all disappointed to see these tickets pop up on secondary ticket sites for an inflated fee.
"Please don't buy these tickets. We work hard to keep our ticket cost as low as possible and never like to see people pay more than the slated price, especially when it's for such a worthy cause and people are profiting from it."

David Beckham and Victoria Beckham at Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy' Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. New York City, USA - 05.05.08
At her recent 34th birthday party (20Apr08), the singer was said to have been left speechless after Cruise surprised her with an invitation to design the costumes for the forthcoming picture.
And according to British newspaper The Daily Express, the Top Gun star has also asked Beckham to make a cameo appearance in the film, which is a spoof of children's book series The Hardy Boys.
Beckham showed off her acting abilities last year (Nov07) when she appeared in hit TV series Ugly Betty as a bridesmaid to Vanessa Williams' catty fashion boss character, Wilhelmina Slater.

SLASH of Velvet Revolver
The Velvet Revolver star kept mostly deadly pythons and boas at his home but he realised it could be dangerous if one of the snakes got into his son's nursery - so he got rid of them.
And he tells Britain's Mojo magazine he was quite relieved to let his pets go.
He says, "Feeding them all by myself had become a bit of a job. I missed the old days when it was just a matter of finding a couple of dead rats around the corner."
Hollywood actress JENNIFER ANISTON and rocker JOHN MAYER are reportedly spending a second romantic weekend together in Florida, fuelling speculation they are a couple.

The pair was photographed embracing on a Miami, Florida beach last month (26-27Apr08). Mayer has since hinted the rumours are true - insisting the camera never lies - but the stars have yet to confirm their relationship.
Mayer has now reportedly flown back to the city from New York to spend two days with the former Friends star. And both are reportedly keen to keep their meetings hidden from the paparazzi this time.
A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "Things are going well between them. But this time they want it to be private, so they will be keeping a low profile."

The actress was filming a scene with the animal for the cult cartoon-turned-action picture when the set started to vibrate.
And the chimp was so terrified it jumped onto Ricci - clinging to her chest in fright.
She says, "The whole set shakes, as it is supposed to for the scene, but the monkey freaks out and grabs my left breast.
"It was hanging off me, so I just leaned over, so its little feet could touch the ground and take some weight off my boob before the monkey ripped the whole thing off."
JOAN COLLINS has proved she still has men fighting over her - after a pair of businessmen this week (begs05May08) became locked in a bidding war to win a date with the star.
Joan Collins at Caudwell Children Present The Legends Ball at the Battersea Evolution. London, England - 08.05.08
The 74-year-old appeared at the Caudwell Children Legends Ball in London on Thursday (08May08) and auctioned off a date for charity.
But the former Dynasty star sparked a frenzy - with two men each bidding $200,000 (GBP100,000) for a chance to have dinner with her.
And in a bid to make peace, Collins eventually granted both men what they wanted.
A guest at the event tells British newspaper the Daily Telegraph, "In the end, Joan decided to take both of them out for dinner. They will donate GBP100,000 each. The venue has yet to be decided."
Classic BRIDGES brothers movie THE FABULOUS BAKER BOYS is littered with facial ticks and quirks - because acting siblings JEFF and BEAU insisted on betting each other to do silly things on camera.
BEAU and JEFF BRIDGES
Jeff Bridges reveals certain scenes in the film amuse him because he remembers challenging his brother to perform all manner of odd bets.
He tells Men's Journal magazine, "I'd dare Beau to stick out his tongue four times in a take, and he'd dare me to flare my nostrils seven times. Things like that."
British TV presenter ZOE BALL escaped getting hit by a speeding car after an elderly driver crashed into a camera crew - narrowly missing the star.
ZOE BALL
The 37-year-old - who is married to Fatboy Slim DJ Norman Cook - was filming for a charity campaign in Brighton, England, on Friday (09May08), when the set was bulldozed by an out of control vehicle.
The driver of the Rover 200 car is believed to have accidentally pressed the accelerator pedal instead of the break, causing him to smash into the film crew.
Ball, 37, escaped with cuts and bruises while a cameraman and a photographer were hospitalised.
The Hollywood movie adaptation of classic novel BRIDESHEAD REVISITED has sparked outrage amongst fans by changing the plot of the famous book.
EMMA THOMPSON
The film version of Evelyn Waugh's 1945 bestseller stars Emma Thompson and Michael Gambon and is due for release later this year (08).
But major rewrites of the plot have angered fans of the classic novel, because they have reworked the relationship of three central characters, implying they were at the centre of a "love triangle".
Producer Robert Bernstein has defended the decision, insisting most of the changes were necessary to cut the production down to a two-hour movie.
And he even consulted the family of the late novelist before going ahead with the new script.
Bernstein says, "We absolutely needed the approval of the family before we went ahead and wrote the (new) scenes.
"We were making a two-hour film, not an 11-part television drama. It is important for us to get to the heart of what was, essentially, a (love) triangle."
A Frenchman is set to take on American comic book icons BATMAN and SUPERMAN with his country's first superhero, VENDOME. David Tomaszewski's original creation Vendome - named after the Parisian square that houses the Ritz hotel - will next year (08) be the star of a feature film, which will see him battle villainous hunchback Quasimodo.
Tomaszewski, 23, says, "I thought: why can't we too have a superhero, a French one in our cinemas?
"I want to do something really French, not too inspired by (U.S. company) Marvel comics."
The movie will be loosely based on a low-budget short film shot by Tomaszewski, which has already been viewed online over 200,000 times.

Director: Christopher Bell Synopsis: In America, we define ourselves in the superlative: we are the biggest, strongest, fastest country in the world. We reward speed, size and above all else: winning – at sport, at business and at war. Metaphorically we are a nation on steroids. Is it any wonder that so many of our heroes are on performance enhancing drugs?
From the producers of Bowling For Columbine and Fahrenheit 9/11 comes a new film that unflinchingly explores our win-at-all-cost culture through the lens of a personal journey. Blending comedy and pathos, BIGGER, STRONGER, FASTER* is a collision of pop culture, animated sequences and first-person narrative, with a diverse cast including US Congressmen, professional athletes, medical experts and everyday gym rats.
At its heart, this is the story of director Christopher Bell and his two brothers, who grew up idolizing muscular giants like Hulk Hogan, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger, and who went on to become members of the steroid-subculture in an effort to realize their American dream. When you discover that your heroes have all broken the rules, do you follow the rules, or do you follow your heroes?
