The Oscar winner and former American Idol favourite hopes to release her first album after her new film Sex + The City hits cinemas next month (Jun08) and she has turned to two peers for advice.
Hudson asked her Secret Life of Bees co-star Keys for help when she realised she had been working on her debut for a year.
She says, "I didn't realise the process would be so long. I'm discovering it as I go along.
"Alicia Keys was one of the people who talked to me about it. I wanted to make sure it was OK because it's taking so long.
"She told me it took her at least a year to record her album and that's the process, so don't worry about it."
And she turned to Arie when she needed a big hit on the album: "Greatest Creation, which India.Arie wrote, is where I see myself and where I'd like to see myself, in saying that my greatest creation is me."

Jordan decided that he didn't want to put the band into a typical studio situation. Instead, understanding the impact of their live sound and presence he simulated the band's on-stage setting on a sound stage, paying attention to every detail, going so far as to recreate their front-of-house setup. The difference in approach is palpable throughout the record.
While the approach changed, what is constant throughout Forgiven and Los Lonely Boys' entire career is their crafted, nuance-filled song writing, strong musicianship and impeccable harmonies that they pull off with deceptive effortlessness. On May 24, Los Lonely Boys are inviting 10 children from the Big Brothers Big Sisters Organization of Austin and 10 children from Sunshine Camp of Austin to a mentoring event. The 20 kids participating will receive an acoustic guitar provided by First Act along with guitar lessons and the opportunity to get up close and personal with Los Lonely Boys after they perform a short acoustic set. Later that night, at 10:30pm at Saxon Pub, where the band got its start, they will be performing an exclusive, intimate set at a Music for Literacy benefit. Music for Literacy is a non-profit organization providing books for Austin school kids this summer. 100% of ticket sales are going to Music for Literacy. The indie DASLabel is proud to announce the May 6th (TODAY!!) release of Nothing Without You, the debut EP from Carney. The release coincides with the beginning of a 30+ date tour culminating with their performance at this year's Bonnaroo Music And Arts Festival in Manchester, TN.
The Los Angeles four-piece is fronted by Reeve Carney, lead vocals & guitar, and Zane Carney on lead guitar, along with John David Lipscomb on bass and Jon Epcar on drums.
The story of the band starts in earnest in 1997, when Reeve's mother, after becoming unable to afford guitar lessons, started bringing Reeve to an old Los Angeles blues club where he started playing weekly with artists over twice his age. The experience brought a maturity and worldview not often found in such a young songwriter. Reeve soon began playing with his brother Zane and friends from school. As the band grew older and Carney's sound developed, they drew influences from artists and individuals as divergent and innovative as John Lee Hooker, David Bowie and Django Reinhardt to Tim Burton, Thomas Edison and Walt Disney.
Years of playing in and around LA culminated in Carney securing a weekly residency at the historic Molly Malone's. The shows at Molly's have become something of an LA phenomenon. An initial audience of friends and family has, from word of mouth alone, become a packed house filled to capacity, the front doors having to be shut before Carney can go on stage. Although the band is only in their early 20's, they play with a prowess that's unmatched by many of their peers.
Carney captured the imagination of manager David Sonenberg (of Fugees and Black Eyed Peas fame). They have been signed to his newly formed DASLabel and their album Imperial Lover will be released in the fall of 2008. Try to catch the band touring, as that is what Carney is all about and will be doing non-stop for the foreseeable future.

JOHN LEGUIZAMO fought to keep his clothes on for awkward sex scenes in his new film THE BABYSITTERS - because he didn't like the idea of himself or his young co-star appearing naked on the screen.

The Moulin Rouge star teamed up with Sam Waterston's young daughter Katherine in her first big screen role, and he was dead set against either of them getting naked.
He says, "I was mortified about the situation because, in the script, she's underage - 16 - and in high school. Luckily it was Katherine and she's legal.
"I wanted it to be more in your mind. I didn't want to do nudity in the film, maybe it's my ex-Catholic nature but I found it too much, so we kept our clothes on and the sex was in your own dirty mind."
But the film, about an enterprising babysitter who launches an escort agency for sex-starved dads, has prompted the actor to think long and hard about his own daughter's future dating games.
He says, "I hope my daughter is a lesbian because that would be a lot easier. That's not a joke.
"Everything is sexualised in our society. It's great that it's free but then there's no code of ethics or how does this all get worked out when everybody is so stimulated with the young folk and even the older folk are on Viagra. It's all such a mess."

More than 1,900 Polish rockers set a new world record in Wroclaw's market square over the weekend (03-04May08) when they all played JIMI HENDRIX's HEY JOE together. After setting the record at the town's annual Thanks Jimi Festival in 2007, event organiser Leszek Cichowwski, a local music teacher, thought he could add a few more guitarists this year.
Last year, 1,881 guitar players came to play.
Cichowski tells Blabbermouth.net, "All guitar players should be in one place and they should play one song together which is not shorter than five minutes. We performed Hey Joe as a record song."
