HILTON + SPEARS TARGETED BY ANIMAL RIGHTS WRITER
PARIS HILTON and BRITNEY SPEARS have been targeted by the author of a new animal rights book - for their growing pet zoos.
PARIS HILTON
Thanking the Monkey: Rethinking the Way We Treat Animals writer Karen Dawn accuses the former party pals of being awful role models to youngsters who dream of having pets - because they own too many. Dawn tells the New York Post, "We've already seen Paris go through dogs faster than mojitos (cocktails), and I bet nobody warned Britney that California might soon force drivers to keep dogs safely restrained in vehicles - like babies. "An impulse purchase of a companion for the next 15 years? ... Nobody expects them to have the dogs much longer than 15 months." Spears has a small collection of chihuahuas which no one seems to see anymore and Hilton recently boasted of breaking California's dog ownership laws by taking in seven pets. The socialite also owns a ferret and an exotic kinkajou among the menageries she keeps at her Hollywood home.
