RAPPER KRS-ONE INJURED BY GIG VIOLENCE

Rapper KRS-ONE has been forced to cancel a string of gigs after he was injured at a concert in Connecticut where a fan threw a bottle at the stage.

The hip-hop artist - real name Lawrence Krisna Parker - was performing at a nightclub in New Haven, Connecticut, earlier this week (beg14Apr08) when an audience member lobbed a bottle at him, striking the rapper in the face.

Parker continued with the final 15 minutes of the concert but was taken to Yale-New Haven hospital in an ambulance as soon as the gig was over.

The 42-year-old was treated for a fractured right hand and dehydration.

Parker has now cancelled six concerts on doctor's orders, including shows in New York and Chicago.

The star asked for the offender not to be prosecuted, according to Allhiphop.com.
