ELLIOTT ILLNESS FORCES DEF LEPPARD TO SCRAP MORE DATES

LATEST: DEF LEPPARD have been forced to scrap more dates on their North American tour because singer JOE ELLIOTT's throat infection isn't healing.

The British rockers were hoping to resume their tour with REO Speedwagon and STYX on Friday night (18Apr08) in Michigan, but Elliott is still too ill to perform.

So, the Pour Some Sugar On Me hitmakers have scrapped Friday's concert and another scheduled for Saturday (19Apr08) to allow the singer more time to rest.

A statement from the bands reads, "Last week, the band had to cancel four Canadian shows due to Joe suffering from an upper respiratory tract infection.

"Although the tour was expected to resume in Grand Rapids tomorrow, Joe's recovery unfortunately didn't go as well as was hoped and two more shows have to be cancelled."
