DEF LEPPARD'S ELLIOTT BATTLES INFECTION ON TOUR

DEF LEPPARD star JOE ELLIOTT is fighting a serious infection as he tours America with the rockers.

The ailing singer has been diagnosed with an upper respiratory tract infection and ordered to rest.

The group was forced to cancel a string of shows on their joint tour with Styx and REO Speedwagon to allow Elliott a chance to relax.

As WENN went to press, the tour is set to resume at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Friday (18Apr08).
