THE X-FILES 2 TITLE REVEALED!

The title is 'The X-Files: I Want to Believe,' said Chris Carter, the creator and the movie's director and co-writer.

Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson).

The title was taken from a poster hanging in the cluttered basement office where Fox Mulder and Dana Scully worked.

Carter also said that the title "suggest Mulder's struggle with his faith."

Carter said that he and co-writer Frank Spotnitz had settled on a title but that Fox still wasn't convinced. "It took so long to go public with it because studio executives wanted to make sure it was a marketable title." Apparently they were convinced.

Distributor 20th Century Fox then signed off on the title Wednesday.
