Rock legend PAUL WELLER wants to avoid his forthcoming 50th birthday - and plans to work through the milestone event.

The star turns 50 in May (08), but doesn't want to make a fuss over his birthday celebrations.
Steve Cradock, Wells' guitarist, says, "Paul's not bothered about turning 50. He'll be working and recording the day after anyway."
