PRINCE PHILIP TO GO HOME

LATEST: British royal PRINCE PHILIP, THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH, is to be discharged from a London hospital on Sunday (06Apr08).

The 86-year-old husband of Queen Elizabeth II was taken to King Edward VII Hospital on Thursday (03Apr08) for assessment and treatment for a chest infection.

He had been suffering from a cold earlier in the week, but was admitted to hospital after his illness worsened.

However, there has been no change in his condition since, and he is expected to resume his royal engagements on Monday (07Apr08).

A spokeswoman for the monarch's official residence Buckingham Palace says, "There are some functions at Windsor on Monday and he is hoping to attend them. There has been no change (to his schedule)."

The Prince has spent three nights at the hospital, and was even visited by British actress/comedienne Joanna Lumley on Saturday (05Apr08), who presented him with a small bunch of flowers.
