Bravo’s new creative dance competition series "Step It Up & Dance" will showcase what it takes to make it big in the cutthroat dance industry as the 12 finalists compete in weekly challenges in a variety of dance styles to get the final "call back" and the chance to become the ultimate dancer, winning $100,000. Celebrated actress and dancer Elizabeth Berkley will host the series and Emmy Award nominee and Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell ("Hairspray, "Legally Blonde") will mentor the dancers. In addition, world-renowned director and choreographer Vincent Paterson (Madonna's "Blond Ambition" Tour, Michael Jackson's "Bad" Tour, and choreographer Nancy O'Meara ("Hannah Montana," "High School Musical Tour"), will serve as judges for the competition.

"Step It Up & Dance" premieres on Bravo on Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 11 PM ET/PT, immediately following the live season finale of “Make Me A Supermodel.”

BROWN CONFIRMS ADULTERY

R+B singer BOBBY BROWN has confirmed he was unfaithful to his former wife WHITNEY HOUSTON - admitting to a number of affairs throughout their 15-year marriage.

The couple's marriage was officially dissolved last year (07) but Brown fought to overturn the ruling in a bid to gain custody of their 15-year-old daughter Bobbi Christina and win spousal support. A judge dismissed his claims earlier this year (Jan08) after he failed to show up to a court hearing.

But now Brown has admitted their marriage was in trouble for a long time and he jeopardised their relationship by cheating on his wife on numerous occasions.

He writes in his forthcoming autobiography, "I am guilty of sleeping with other women... Women are always throwing themselves at you. I'm only human, so I would make the mistake and bite the hook sometimes. I let the testosterone take over."

GAYE'S SISTER TO PUT AN END TO MURDER MYSTERY WITH NEW BOOK

Singer MARVIN GAYE's sister is set to tell all about the late soul legend in her new book MY BROTHER MARVIN - in which she hopes to end the mystery surrounding his death.

Zeola Gaye claims her tome reveals everything about his private life during his rise to international fame in the 1960s and 1970s, right through to his split from Motown Records in the 1980s, and his self-imposed exile in Europe.

She says, "It's a tell-all book that will basically reveal everything that anybody has ever wondered as far as my family. I'm speaking of my mother, father, my sister and my brother, and my life with Marvin."

And Zeola still insists on paying tribute to her brother every year on the day of his birth.

She says, "I like to say it's a celebration of his life. Since his birthday was the 2nd, I tend to try to let 1 April just slide past me. And on 2 April we celebrate his birthday."

Gaye died in April 1984 - one day before his 45th birthday (02Apr84) - when he was shot and killed by his father following an argument.

The book is due to be released later this year (08) to mark the 24th anniversary of the star's death.

BROWN BLAMES HOUSTON FOR COCAINE ADDICTION

R+B singer BOBBY BROWN has blamed his ex-wife WHITNEY HOUSTON for getting him hooked on hard drugs.

The 39-year-old, whose 15-year marriage to Houston was officially dissolved last year (07), has accused his former wife of introducing him to cocaine, which led to a spiraling drugs habit.

Brown was convicted of cocaine possession in December (07) and sentenced to a year of community service.

And now the former New Edition star has put the blame solely on Houston.

He writes in his forthcoming autobiography, "I never used cocaine until after I met Whitney. Before then, I had experimented with other drugs, but marijuana was my drug of choice.

"At one point in my life, I used drugs uncontrollably. I was using everything I could get my hands on, from cocaine to heroin, weed and cooked cocaine."

Houston also has a conviction for drug possession after she was arrested at a Hawaiian airport in January 2000. The How Will I Know singer pleaded no contest to possessing marijuana and was ordered to make a donation to an anti-drugs campaign in place of community service.

MAGAZINE ISSUES APOLOGY TO MORRISSEY

British singer MORRISSEY has won the first step in the battle to clear his name after a U.K. magazine ran an interview featuring alleged 'racist' remarks from the star.

The former Smiths frontman launched a libel lawsuit against NME magazine, accusing the publication of damaging his reputation and "labelling him a racist in order to boost their diminishing circulation".

Morrissey subsequently sued The Word magazine, claiming it repeated the NME's "defamatory statements".

And the You Have Killed Me hitmaker has now won apology from The Word after a court hearing in London earlier this week (beg31Mar08).

The star is pleased to have secured the retraction and is now focusing on his ongoing court battle with the NME.

He says, "I am obviously delighted with this victory and the clearing of my name in public where it is loud and clear for all to hear. The NME have calculatedly tried to damage my integrity and to label me as a racist. Word Magazine made the mistake of repeating those allegations, which they now accept are false and, as a result, have apologised in Open Court.

"I will now continue to pursue my legal action against the NME and its editor until they do the same."

JAY-Z TO SIGN LIVE NATION DEAL?

Rapper SHAWN 'JAY-Z' CARTER is to follow in the footsteps of MADONNA and U2 by signing a multi-million dollar (pound) deal with concert promoter Live Nation.

The star is reported to be on the verge of putting his name to a 10-year contract with the company, which would see Live Nation cover the star's music and music-related businesses for the next decade.

Carter would be forced to leave current label Def Jam - of which he was formerly president - to commit to the new deal, although he still owes the label one studio album.

He would receive a $25 million (GBP12.5 million) upfront payment from Live Nation, plus payments of $10 million (GBP5 million) per album for a minimum of three albums and $25 million (GBP12.5 million) toward concerts and tours - and would part with a further $20 million (GBP10 million) in exchange for publishing, licensing and other rights.

It is also thought Live Nation will commit $50 million (GBP25 million) to Carter's investments and Roc Nation, his entertainment venture encompassing his own record label, music publishing, consulting and management projects.

Madonna signed an historic deal with Live Nation last year (07), rumoured to be worth $120 million (GBP60 million), while U2's 12-year deal with the promoter was announced earlier this week (begs31Mar08).

WHITE UNFAZED BY PRESS OUTCRY OVER LP RELEASE

JACK WHITE has hit back at media criticism for his decision to rush the release of THE RACONTEURS' second album.

The rockers released Consolers Of The Lonely on 25 March (08) - only three weeks after they finished recording the album.

The decision meant members of the press were not given advance copies to write reviews prior to the LP hitting shops.

But White, who formed the band as a side project while still working with The White Stripes, is unfazed by the media's negative reaction - insisting The Raconteurs' first priority is the fans.

He says, "Some of the media have been a little bit bruised, thinking this was to try to beat the critics. I don't care about that. The point was, review it after the fans have it. What's wrong with that?"

And White admits the decision also stems from his frustration at long promotional campaigns which bands are forced to undertake prior to a record's release.

He adds, "This is the way they used to do it. Bands didn't use to promote an album for four months before a record came out. It really gets annoying that you have to turn into some computer-whiz salesman once you're done mixing."

KYLIE PLANS MANILOW TRIBUTE

Australian pop star KYLIE MINOGUE is planning to pay tribute to veteran singer BARRY MANILOW on her upcoming European tour.

The Spinning Around hitmaker is reportedly working on a performance of Manilow's classic hit Copacabana for the KylieX2008 tour which kicks off in Paris on 6 May (08).

A source tells the publication, "One of the key moments in the production is when Kylie sings a rendition of Barry Manilow's Copacabana.

"It's very theatrical. It all ties in nicely with Kylie's love of showgirls."

The rocker decided it would be fun to show up with the former model to show once and for all the Stones' fabled rivalry with The Beatles throughout the 1960s was just a myth.

The ruse started when Wood, who joined the Stones in 1975, invited Boyd to join him and some pals on a night out in New York last Friday (28Mar08) - the first Mrs. Harrison declined, but invited Wood to join her at the convention instead.

Convention host Martin Lewis says, "Ronnie saw the humour of the situation... and arrived by stretch limo at the hotel."

Even though it was nearly 2am, the hotel lobby and corridors were still jammed with hordes of Beatles fans participating in informal singalongs of Fab Four tunes.

Lewis adds, "The fans were shocked and stunned as I ushered Ronnie through the crowd to the gallery in the hotel, where Boyd was displaying her exhibit of historic photographs and original '60s mod outfits."

Wood chatted with some of the delighted fans, who launched into an impromptu version of I Wanna Be Your Man, the 1963 John Lennon and Paul McCartney tune that gave the Stones their first hit.

Lewis concludes, "Ronnie was in great form... He found the whole situation of sneaking into a Beatles convention hilarious."

Segel was bemused by the paparazzi in helicopters circling the show's Hollywood set trying to get a shot of Spears, who had a cameo role as a secretary on the TV comedy.

So the comedian approached the Toxic singer to offer an alternative explanation for the choppers in the sky - but she didn't get his joke.

Segel says, "I went up to her and said, 'I'm sorry, I have this big movie coming out - this is what it's like for me.'

"She looked at me strangely and walked away."

MONAGHAN AND LILLY REUNITE?

Former LOST co-stars DOMINIC MONAGHAN and EVANGELINE LILLY have rekindled their relationship, according to reports.

The pair split late last year (07) after Monaghan's character Charlie was killed off on Lost, and the British actor left the show's Hawaii location.

But Monaghan and Lilly were spotted together at the opening of Monaghan's recent photography exhibition in Los Angeles, and sources claim they are a couple again.

A friend tells Star magazine, "She remained in Hawaii for the show, and he moved back to L.A. so the distance took its toll.

"They decided to take a break, but it was really hard on them both."

After staying touch, things are now back on track, the source claims: "They never stopped loving each other."

O'DONNELL LANDS ROLE OPPOSITE WAHLBERG

GREY'S ANATOMY star CHRIS O'DONNELL has landed a role alongside MARK WAHLBEG in action movie MAX PAYNE.

Despite having not headlined a major Hollywood film since 2000's Vertical Limit, the actor is set to star in the big-screen adaptation of the popular shoot-'em-up game.

The movie - set for release later this year (08) - follows the story of a New York cop, played by Wahlberg, who is haunted by the death of his family.

"We loved that because we could sneak around. Our first kiss was in the car park of a restaurant.

"We used to drive to places and just spend as much time together as possible and that was an amazing time in our relationship."

HOLLYWOOD AGENT MCELWAINE DIES

Studio chief and Hollywood agent GUY McELWAINE has died following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 71.

The showman, who was involved in blockbusters from All the President's Men to The Karate Kid, died on Wednesday (02Apr08) at his Bel-Air home.

In the 1960s, McElwaine owned a management and public relations company whose clients included Frank Sinatra, Warren Beatty and The Mamas and The Papas.

The former brother-in-law of actress Dey Young joined Creative Management Associates, an agency that was the forerunner for the powerful International Creative Management and there, he is reported to be the first agent to sign filmmaker Steven Spielberg.

He enjoyed a brief stint at Warner Brothers as a senior executive in charge of worldwide motion picture production - putting together movies such as All the President's Men, Dog Day Afternoon and Oh God.

McElwine was also resident of Columbia Pictures, later becoming the studio's chairman and chief executive officer - helping produce blockbusters such as Ghostbusters and Gandhi.

Cinema Dailymotion, located at www.cinema.dailymotion.com, debuts with critically-acclaimed film, "Red Without Blue," from IndiePix's collection of award winning independent films.
