CLANCY'S HOME HIT BY BLAZE

PATRIOT GAMES author TOM CLANCY's Maryland home has been badly damaged by a fire.

Damages worth $10,000 (GBP5,000) were caused when the inferno ripped through the second floor deck of Clancy's house on Chesapeake Bay, near Washington D.C on Saturday (29Mar09).

Clancy escaped unhurt and firefighters were able to put out the blaze.

The novelist is famous for writing The Hunt For Red October, starring Sir Sean Connery, also Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger - which starred Harrison Ford as Jack Ryan.
