BONHAM FRONTMAN DIES

Former BONHAM singer DANIEL MacMASTER has died from a staph infection. He was 39.

MacMaster, who was suffering from pneumonia when the bacteria infection took hold, passed away on Sunday (16Mar08) after less than 24 hours in hospital.

Terry Baker, who was in McMaster's pre-Bonham band Scorcher, tells Blabbermouth.net, "Dan passed away from a staph infection; he had pneumonia and didn't realise he had a staph infection that got in his blood. By the time he got to hospital, it was too late.

"His family and friends are in shock... No words can explain his talent and personality. Truly an amazing person."

MacMaster made his name singing in Bonham, founded by late Led Zeppelin star John Bonham's drummer son Jason, in the late 1980s.

Bonham released two studio albums - The Disregard Of Timekeeping (1989) and Mad Hatter (1992).
