POTTER STAR APPEARS IN SCHOOL PLAY

HARRY POTTER star ROBERT HARDY delighted young fans in Portsmouth, England - after agreeing to appear in a local school play.

The 82-year-old actor, who plays Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge in the boy wizard's big-screen adventures, signed up for the role of God in a production of opera Noye's Fludde (Noah's Flood).

Hardy was asked to appear in the play at Portsmouth Grammar School by headmaster James Priory last year (07), and was delighted to accept the offer.

He says, "I was first approached about the play last year and I jumped at the chance to come and work with the children."
